8mm Strip Grass Tufts — 4 Strips per Sheet, for Wargame Bases & Model Fields
Couldn't load pickup availability
Four pre-formed grass strips, roughly 6 mm wide and 8 mm tall, on a peel-off film. Lay them parallel and you have a verge, a hedgerow base or a strip of field. Cut across them for shorter runs — the coating holds, so the cut end does not fray. Six colours across the growing season.
Why strips
A single tuft is a dot. A strip is a line. When you need a row — the edge of a field, a drainage ditch, a windbreak, the boundary between two terrain pieces — you want a line, not forty dots placed by hand.
What you get
- 4 strips per sheet, 60 × 108 mm
- Strip width approx. 6 mm, spread approx. 9 mm
- Height 8 mm
- Peel-and-stick film backing
- 6 colours
How to use them
Peel a strip off and lay it down. For a field edge, run two strips parallel with a 10–15 mm gap — that reads as a track between crops. For a hedgerow, stack two strips at slightly different angles.
Cutting
Cut across a strip to make shorter runs. The coating holds the fibres together, so the cut end stays intact — you get a clean edge instead of a frayed one. This is the difference between a strip you can fit to a shape and one you cannot.
Why 8 mm
5 mm strips sit almost flat; they work for paddy and cropped ground but disappear in a scene with any depth. 8 mm reads as standing grass — high enough to define an edge, low enough not to block a model behind it.
